A 14-year-old Snohomish County boy accidentally shot himself in the leg Tuesday morning while target shooting, the sheriff’s office said.
The victim, a student at Voyager Middle School, apparently skipped school to go target shooting with friends, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The shooting was reported by a friend of the victim around 9:15 a.m. near the 12400 block of Admiralty Way.
The boy told deputies that the firearm belonged to a parent.
The victim was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center in serious condition, the sheriff’s office said.
