Seattle police on Sunday arrested three men after they allegedly broke into a West Seattle home and stole a diamond ring and marijuana.
A woman living at the home told police that she hid in the closet while thieves ransacked her house. The woman told officers that “she heard voices outside the front door of her home in the 6000 block of 26th Avenue Southwest around noon and could partially see people through her blinds.”
As the woman hid in the closet “she heard glass breaking and people moving around in her house,” police wrote in a news release.
The woman dialed 911.
When officers arrived they saw two men running past the front gate and a third suspect on a stairwell.
One of the men dropped the ring before he was arrested; the victim identified the jewelry as being stolen from her home. The woman also told police that two small containers of marijuana found on the suspects belonged to her, police said in the news release.
The men were booked into the King County Jail.
