Truck driver dies in Blewett Pass crash; victim in Sunday fatality identified

ELLENSBURG — The Washington State Patrol says the driver of a semi-truck killed in a crash Monday morning on Highway 97 at Blewett Pass was driving too fast for conditions.

Troopers say the truck ran off the highway and hit a tree.

The crash killed 53-year-old Daniel D. Higgenbottom of Gig Harbor.

The State Patrol has identified the semi-truck driver who was killed Sunday night in a crash on Interstate 90 at Snoqualmie Pass as 58-year-old Robert A. Benson of Peyton, Colo..

The WSP says his truck hit a barrier and rolled on its side.
