Bad driver leads King County deputy to cache of stolen goods

The Associated Press

The consequences of bad driving just kept multiplying after a traffic stop led King County sheriff’s deputies to recover two stolen cars, a stolen motorcycle, a stolen handgun and several stolen license plates.

Also, sheriff’s Sgt. DB Gates said, the 29-year-old man who was stopped Monday night south of Seattle turned out to be wanted on an arrest warrant for a driving offense.

Gates said a deputy spotted a “poorly driven car” and eventually pulled over the driver. A check showed the car and two different license plates on it were stolen.

The man had driven back to his house instead of stopping immediately for the deputy. In the yard was a stolen motorcycle and another stolen car. A search of the car the man had been driving turned up a stolen handgun.

The man was booked into jail for investigation of possessing a stolen firearm and a stolen vehicle.
