Police arrest Rainier Valley drive-by shooting suspect

A 20-year-old man thought to be involved in a drive-by shooting in Rainier Valley on Dec. 27 was arrested Friday night after a fight.

Police were called to the Brighton neighborhood at about noon Dec. 27 after someone in a car started shooting at another car that had just pulled into a driveway.

Nobody was injured in the shooting.

Police investigating the case recognized and detained the suspect when responding to fight at Rainier Avenue South and South Genesee Street on Friday.

The man was booked into King County Jail on investigation of drive-by shooting. His identity wasn’t released. Officers also located and impounded his car, which they believe is the one used in last weekend’s shooting.
