Skagit County shooting victim identified

A 47-year-old man who died after being shot in the head early Thursday morning near Concrete was identified as Allen Kesterson of the Concrete area, according to the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies responding to a shooting  in the 38800 block of Highway 20  found Kesterson dead when they arrived at 4:13 a.m.

A 30-year-old man was arrested and booked into the Skagit County Jail for investigation of second-degree murder, the sheriff’s office said in a news release. His name was not released.

“The only relationship between the victim and suspect is that they attended a New Year’s Eve party at the residence,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “The motive for the shooting is unclear and the investigation is ongoing at this time.”
