Two killed at Renton New Year’s Eve party

A New Year’s Eve party near Renton ended in gunfire that left two dead and one wounded.

King County Sheriff’s Sgt. DB Gates said two guests who were asked to leave the party in the 11500 block of 161st Avenue Southeast apparently opened gunfire outside the residence about 3:30 a.m.

Other guests returned fire, she said. Two  men involved in the shooting were killed and a third was taken to a hospital and released with non-life-threatening injuries.

About 20 to 25 people were at the party at the time of the shooting. Detectives interviewed witnesses and began processing the crime scene outside the house at daylight, Gates said. She said alcohol may have been a factor in the shooting.

No arrests have been made.
