PUYALLUP — The Washington State Fair in Puyallup will open Labor Day weekend next year, increasing the number of weekends for the event from three to four with the goal of boosting attendance and revenue.
Fair officials also announced Thursday that beginning in 2016, the fair would be closed on Tuesdays, historically the slowest days. The day off will give vendors and exhibitors a chance to restock and rest. It also will make it easier for 4-H participants to change livestock.
The News Tribune reports the total number of days of the fair will increase from 17 to 21.
