TACOMA — The Pierce County sheriff’s office says a man called 911 Thursday morning and told dispatchers he had killed his wife at their home near Tacoma.
Spokesman Jerry Bates says deputies forced their way inside and found a 59-year-old woman had been strangled.
Bates says the 57-year-old man had locked himself in a bathroom and cut his neck.
The News Tribune reports he was taken into surgery and is expected to survive.
Bates says deputies also responded to the home on Dec. 28 when the man reportedly attempted suicide.
