Crew finds bones on Bainbridge Island, but doesn’t report them for 3 years
The Associated Press
BAINBRIDGE ISLAND — A skull and bones believed to be more than 100 years old were uncovered by workers digging a septic drain field for a cabin on Bainbridge Island.
The Kitsap Sun reports it happened nearly three years ago but wasn’t reported until last month by one of the workers.
The homeowner said he didn’t report the bones because he didn’t want to deal with having an Indian burial site on his property.
The Kitsap County coroner’s office is working with a state archaeologist on the disposition of the bones.
