Fire apparently set at Shelton to cover up burglary

The Associated Press

SHELTON  — The Mason County sheriff’s office says a fire was apparently set at a Shelton property early Tuesday in an attempt to cover up a burglary.

The fire burned an RV trailer, but firefighters prevented it from spreading to neighboring buildings. Deputies arrested four suspects in a car that fled the scene.

KIRO reports they have been jailed for investigation of arson.

Neighbors heard noises from a trailer about 1:30 in the area about 10 north of Shelton. The fire started as the suspects sped off.

William Adam of the sheriff’s office says the fire threatened the entire neighborhood.
