Forecast: Series of rain storms headed for Northwest

The Associated Press

SEATTLE — The National Weather Service says a series of storms are headed for the Northwest that will bring waves of rain with short breaks through the weekend.

The strongest storm arrives with winds Wednesday night and Thursday. Forecasters say there could be more than 2 inches of rain in the Cascades and an inch of rain in the lowlands on the west side.

East of the Cascades also will get warm, windy, wet weather that could cause debris to flow of lands burned by wildfires.
