Women’s reported abduction probed in Whatcom County

The Associated Press

NOOKSACK, Wash. — Whatcom County authorities are trying to locate a man sought in a reported abduction who wound up having car trouble in the hours after last Sunday’s Super Bowl.

The Sheriff’s Office says the driver is accused of abducting a woman in Bellingham and driving her to the Nooksack area. That’s where the vehicle’s passenger-side wheels reported got stuck in mud at the side of the road.

The Bellingham Herald reports the victim was able to run off into a field and reach a nearby house, where the resident called 911.

Both the Sheriff’s Office and Bellingham police hope to talk to anyone who may have seen or helped the driver.
