Man who attempted to pet moose in Spokane arrested

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A man who attempted to pet a bull moose in a Spokane cemetery was arrested after fighting with a wildlife officer. Police say 33-year-old Joseph D. Patterson interfered with the state Fish and Wildlife officer who was trying to corral the agitated moose Sunday at Holy Cross Cemetery. The Spokesman-Review reports

1 killed in collision with patrol car near Ephrata

EPHRATA  (AP) — The Washington State Patrol is investigating a vehicle collision that killed a 22-year-old woman and injured a Grant County sheriff’s deputy.
