Streetcar design for Broadway extension to get $1.75 million federal grant

Mayor Mike McGinn is expected to announce today that the planned half-mile north Broadway streetcar extension will receive $1.75 million in federal grants. Fire damages restaurant on Capitol Hill

A Capitol Hill restaurant sustained major damage in an overnight fire. Firefighters were called to Galerias Gourmet Mexican Restaurant, 611 Broadway Ave E., at 2:56 a.m. for the blaze, said Seattle fire spokesman Kyle Moore.
