BELLINGHAM (AP) — A hiker whose body was found Saturday near Mount Baker died from dehydration, exposure and injuries from several falls.
The death of 51-year-old Brian Proctor of Concrete was an accident, according to the Whatcom County medical examiner.
The Bellingham Herald reports Proctor split with a hiking partner August 4 on a day hike. The other hiker made it out OK.
After nearly a week, searchers found Proctor’s body in the snow near the Lone Jack Mine, about 25 miles east of Glacier.
