Four people, including three young children, were injured Friday morning when they were hit by pieces of a Metro bus tire that exploded in the Chinatown International District.
Seattle Fire Department spokesman Kyle Moore said two boys and a girl, all under age 6, and a woman suffered abrasions when they were hit with bits of the tire at 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street. The victims were all standing at a bus stop at the time.
Moore said their injuries did not appear serious, but as a precaution the victims were being taken to Harborview Medical Center.
Metro spokeswoman Rochell Ogershok said it was a rear tire on the Route 7 bus. The cause was not immediately known.
