Son says “Jonathan Livingston Seagull” author is improving rapidly

The author of the bestselling novella “Jonathan Livingston Seagull” remained in serious condition Sunday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, but his son said his father’s condition has improved “markedly.” Richard Bach, 76,  was seriously injured Friday when he crashed his small, amphibious plane while attempting to land on a grass airstrip on San Juan Island….

Richard Bach, author of the classic 1970s fable “Jonathan Livingston Seagull,” was seriously injured Friday when he crashed his small plane on San Juan Island.
