Ferry Tacoma out until summer; repair to cost at least $1.8M

The damaged state ferry Tacoma, which  stalled July 29 off Bainbridge Island due to an electrical failure, will cost at least $1.8 million to fix and will likely not return to service until summer 2015, officials said Wednesday. State names Pierce Transit leader as new ferries chief

The Washington State Department of Transportation has named Lynne Griffith, CEO of Pierce Transit, to lead the state ferries system.
