Montesano man killed in mobile home fire

(Aberdeen) Daily World Fire claimed the life of a 55-year-old Montesano man this morning, Montesano Fire Department Chief Corey Rux said. Bogus bills bust in Grays Harbor County

The Associated Press MONTESANO — Surveillance video helped the Grays Harbor County sheriff’s office identify a 54-year-old transient from Rochester as the man suspected of passing counterfeit $100 bills in the county. KBKW reports he turned himself in Friday. Investigators are looking for a second suspect, the man’s 41-year-old girlfriend.

Man severely injured when cannon discharges

A man firing a black powder cannon in a remote location near Montesano was injured when it spontaneously discharged.  The Grays Harbor County sheriff’s office told KBKW the 45-year-old Montesano man suffered a severe injury Sunday to his right leg and third-degree burns to his left leg.  He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
