A 32-year-old man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition after nearly drowning at a Seattle Center-area motel this morning.
According to Seattle police, the man and two others had been drinking when they got into the closed pool at the Holiday Inn Express around 3 a.m. Two of the men swam laps while the third man sank to the bottom of the pool. The other two men thought the man was “just playing,” according to police spokesman Mark Jamieson.
A hotel employee discovered the three in the closed pool and ordered them to leave, but the third man was still on the bottom. The man was yanked from the pool and police were called. Two West Precinct officers quickly arrived, one performed CPR until medics arrived.
