PORTLAND — An ex-Oregon State Police detective accused of having sex with a prostitute while on duty pleaded guilty Monday to official misconduct and was sentenced to seven days in the Multnomah County Jail.
KOIN reports 50-year-old Richard Narvaez worked for Oregon State Police for 23 years and resigned in September.
He was assigned to the Tribal Gaming Section and was on duty, but not in uniform, last August when he was seen having sex with a woman in an empty lot in southeast Portland.
The woman in the case was arrested on prostitution and public indecency charges and for violating probation.

PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon State Police say two residents of Vancouver, Wash., were killed in a car wreck after they tried to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone on a snow-covered road.
Richard Bruce Fraker was driving a Ford F-250 on Highway 97 north of Redmond on Saturday when he tried to pass a 2012 Ford Focus driven by 19-year-old Justin Hendrix of Madras, Ore. Fraker lost control, struck the other car and both vehicles careered off the highway.
Hendrix brought his car to a controlled stop, but the pickup rolled onto its top. The 68-year-old Fraker was killed, as was one of his passengers, 47-year-old Terry Anne Clampitt. Another passenger, 67-year-old Barbara Fraker, was taken to St. Charles Medical Center in Redmond with possibly serious injuries.

A 37-year-old Kirkland woman was arrested last night after a state trooper found five pounds of marijuana and a small amount of cocaine in her car during a traffic stop near Salem, Ore.
The Oregon State Police trooper stopped the woman’s 2002 Mercury Sable for a traffic violation around 11:12 p.m. on northbound Interstate 5. The trooper searched the trunk of the car and found the marijuana in a suitcase, according to an Oregon State Police news release. The trooper also found a small amount of cocaine in a backpack.
The State Police estimates the value of the marijuana at $12,500.
The woman was arrested and booked into the Marion County Jail for investigation of unlawful possession and distribution of a controlled substance.
