Pet adoptions hit record in 2011

Pet adoptions through the Seattle Humane Society hit a record last year. The agency adopted out 5,562 dogs, cats and small animals in 2011 — surpassing the adoption of 5,498 pets in 2009. It was the most pets adopted in any one year since the agency’s founding in 1897.
