A puppy dumped in the middle of an intersection is alive today after a Spokane County Sheriff’s deputy heard a call that a man appeared to be abandoning puppies in the street. The deputy, who was off-duty, hurried to the spot, found just one pup, scooped it up and took it home. Got to love stories like that, except for the guy who abandoned the puppy …
Microsoft’s Surface RT tablet: The software company can’t seem to get a break when it comes to it’s touch screen tablet. The company is being sued by a shareholder who is accusing Microsoft executives of misleading investors about how well the RT tablets were selling. Microsoft also makes a Surface Pro model.
Being hung out to dry: Laundry that is. There’s a flap over folks being allowed to hang their laundry on an outside clothesline. Seriously? In Europe, at least in Italy, many people hang their laundry on drying racks on the small porches of their apartments all the time. The reason? Clothes driers and the energy needed to run them are expensive.
Not my camera: A teacher in Selah, Yakima County, was arraigned yesterday on a voyeurism charge after a tiny video camera was found under a girl’s desk in his ninth grade classroom some two years ago. The 52-year-old teacher resigned back then, but has denied owning or installing the camera. The Yakima Herald-Republic has the story.

When Scamp the puppy got hit by a car in Yelm earlier this month, he was wrapped in a blanket and set in the cold backyard, soon to be buried.
But Scamp, a Yorkshire terrier-Shih Tzu mix, had a surprise for his owners.
