EVERETT (AP) — The Snohomish County social worker whose alleged affair with Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon started a 2011 investigation has filed a claim with the county seeking $750,000.
Tamara Dutton claims she was subjected to harassment, discrimination and retaliation by co-workers because of the alleged affair. In return for the settlement she says she’ll resign and drop all legal claims against the county.
The Oct. 6 claim could be the first step in such a lawsuit.
The county’s chief civil deputy prosecutor, Jason Cummings, says county attorneys are reviewing the claim.
In a response to a question from The Daily Herald, Reardon called it a fraudulent claim.
No charges were filed against Reardon who stepped down at the end of May.
