State gives $9.7 million toward housing project at Sand Point

The Washington State Department of Commerce has awarded $9.7 million to a national nonprofit to help convert a historic Sand Point Naval Air Station building into affordable-housing units. Thousands without power in Northeast Seattle, Eastside

Update at 6:40 p.m.: The outage in Northeast Seattle is affecting 700 customers, according to Seattle City Light. Seattle firefighters put out smoldering blaze on NOAA ship

UPDATE AT 3:35 P.M.: A Seattle Fire Department investigator has determined the fire was accidental and was caused by welding operations.
