Weather: The mild temperatures we had through the weekend should continue today and through the next couple of days. Although we might not reach the record-breaking 70 degree temps we hit yesterday, expect highs today in the mid- to upper 60s. The National Weather Service forecast.
Traffic: Nothing unusual to report so far about the Monday morning commute. To keep in mind for later today: The Seattle Department of Transportation is starting to make street improvements on Northwest Market Street in Ballard at 28th Avenue Northwest. Expect delays around the area. The map and cams.
Madrona house fire: KING-TV reports a man and his 40-year-old daughter were inside their Madrona home watching a DVD when a fire broke out after 4 a.m. Both escaped the blaze without injuries.
Breast-feeding vote today: The City Council is voting today on legislation that would make it illegal to require breast-feeding women to cover up in public or to suggest they move to another location. Nicole Brodeur wrote about the issue Thursday.
AOL will sell more than 800 patents to Microsoft: AOL said this morning that it has agreed to sell 800 of its patents and their related applications to Microsoft and grant it a license for its remaining patents for a total about $1.06 billion in cash.

Fishing gear threatens sea life: Old fishing nets, crab pots, lines and hooks ensnare and kill more than half a million sea creatures in Puget Sound every year, according to the Northwest Straits Marine Conservation Initiative. One of those animals was Sandy, a seal pup returned to the wild in January. She drowned this month.
