City drops tree-cutting charges against former Magnuson Park volunteer

The Seattle City Attorney’s Office  has dropped charges against a former Magnuson Park volunteer land steward accused of wrongly cutting down trees. The city’s Parks and Recreation Department requested the charges against Kurt Zwar, which were filed in April. 500 trees along I-5 will be removed for cameras

TACOMA  (AP) — Around 500 trees along Interstate 5 between Lakewood and Lacey will be removed to improve sight lines of new state traffic cameras. Downtown Moses Lake trees cost $5,300 each
