A 22-year-old Bellevue man was killed this morning when his car hit a construction vehicle in Redmond.
The young man was driving east along the 19000 block of Union Hill Road when his car ran into a front loader, according to Redmond police.
The young man was treated at the crash scene, but died on the way to the hospital. The driver of the front loader was not injured.
Witnesses told police that speed may have been a factor in the accident.
Union Hill Road was expected to be closed for several hours between 188th Avenue Northeast and 192nd Avenue Northeast.

A 19-year-old man was shot and killed early Wednesday inside a Skyway apartment, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to the apartment in the 13400 block of Martin Luther King Jr. WaySouth around 12:30 a.m. and found the victim with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to sheriff’s spokeswoman Sgt. Cindi West.
When deputies also found four other adults in the apartment trying to help the victim, West said. Four children, ages 2 to 7, who were inside the apartment slept through the shooting, West said.
A neighbor told deputies that she reported seeing two men run from the building shortly after hearing the gun shot, West said.
Detectives continue to investigate. No arrests have been made.
