The Republican presidential race in one map — or, why Newt Gingrich should sweep tonight

This map is making the rounds of political tweeters and junkies today.

If this holds tonight, just go ahead and book June 26 as the date Mitt Romney becomes the nominee. That day Utah holds the final primary of the Republican contest, and it is winner take all. Both Utah’s position and its bounty may be the final, necessary moment for Romney to get the holy grail.
