Robinson’s neighborhood

You can’t argue with Storm center Ashley Robinson when she proclaims herself her toughest critic. If she misses a shot during games you can literally hear her shout, “I suck right now” to herself.
“I probably shouldn’t say that,” she said bashfully. “But I was trying to be emotionally into the game no matter what.”
Fans saw the flipside, too, against Detroit on Friday when Robinson squealed in excitement at a made long jumper and play by teammate Iziane Castro Marques inside. She was working hard with developmental coach Talvin Skinner at was supposed to be a light practice today to work on her interior skills since she’ll be used more in the anticipated absence of power forward Lauren Jackson against Los Angeles on Sunday.
Jackson was able to walk around the training facility after hobbling out of KeyArena on Friday night. She’s hopeful to start, but the plantar fasciitis in her left foot flares on its own schedule.
“I knew I was coming in to play defense, rebound and run the floor,” said Robinson, who was acquired via trade in June. “Offensively, we have so many threats that I just want to get my offense through them being great offensive players. When Lauren went out [Friday], you gotta play hard because she plays hard every single day. For her to sit out she has to be hurting, so I wanted to make sure I at least brought energy.”
Robinson had a career-high 13 rebounds against the Shock.
The Storm did individual drills and shooting after watching film at the approximate 90 minute session. Guard Betty Lennox was on the court despite re-aggravating her sore right knee, but center Cisti Greenwalt was not present.
She was evaluated at Swedish Medical Center on Friday after sustaining a mild concussion during the loss, she’s not expected to play on Sunday.
