Wright all right

Storm guard Tanisha Wright hasn’t returned to practice due to a pulled left groin, but coach Anne Donovan said she expects the third-year veteran to travel with the team for its upcoming exhibition road games against Indiana (Saturday) and Connecticut (Tuesday). Donovan would not reveal her starting lineup, however.
If Wright is healthy, I’m thinking she starts at point guard with rookie Katie Gearlds as her backcourt mate. Iziane Castro Marques (small forward) and Janell Burse (center) could retain their starting positions with veteran Wendy Palmer at power forward — in my book.
The only problem with that lineup is Palmer’s health. She said she’s not 100 percent and that the torn left Achilles still scares her, even though there’s no pain. Donovan wants to bring Palmer along slowly, like Wright, so Palmer could play limited minutes against Indiana.
Free agent Shyra Ely is performing well at camp and is another option in the starting lineup with her power forward background and small forward skills. As Wright missed practice today, Ely ran through five-on-five drills with Gearlds, Castro Marques, Palmer and Burse. Castro Marques played shooting guard while Palmer and Burse were the post players .
Either way, rotations will be interesting this weekend. Even if shooting guard Betty Lennox arrives in time to travel, the Storm would only have seven players healthy enough to play an entire game. That’s not all bad — the exhibition season is where you want to correct mistakes and learn.
