Storm wins

Seattle used a 10-0 run down the stretch to defeat Connecticut tonight.
Based on the box score guard Tanisha Wright’s roster spot could be trouble. She is returning from a left groin injury and had to face scrappy guards who are also vying for a spot, but six turnovers? Looks like the old T to me.
Turnovers were a problem team-wide, too. Veteran Janell Burse had five and fellow starters Betty Lennox and Iziane Castro Marques had four each.
The Storm did shoot better, but I’m also concerned about rookie Katie Gearlds. She was 0 for 4 from the field tonight, on the heel of a 2-for-10 performance in a loss to Indiana on Saturday. The Fever game is a wash because the team didn’t have any depth, but Gearlds is a pure shooter and if she’s unable to make one basket in 17 minutes, what does that say? She was 4 for 4 from the free-throw line, however, so she was being aggressive. I’ll be sure to ask Gearlds and coach Anne Donovan what the deal was. Until then …
