Nothing new

Storm guard Betty Lennox got the KeyArena crowd to chant her name again, making all seven of her three-point attempts in the second half. After one late in the fourth quarter, new Sacramento coach Jenny Boucek sneered Lennox’s way and quickly called for a 20-second timeout. Boucek can remember when crowds called Lennox the “microwave,” for her hot shooting off the bench in Miami, where Boucek was an assistant coach.
The shooting is nothing new — if you were able to see Lennox play in Poland this offseason. There are basically no fouls called in international play and Lennox still shot 52 percent from the field and 44 percent from three-point range. That’s better than her WNBA career averages of 40.3 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three-point range in eight seasons.
“I found some strength from deep down to pull out because I had six turnovers and I felt like I couldn’t bend over because my legs were sluggish,” Lennox said. “I pulled it out and I knew I would, but I had to keep on trying. To be honest, I felt like I picked up from where I left of overseas. My goal is to continue this throughout the season.”
