About last night

A reporter walks into a bar and what should she see? A Storm signee staring back at me.
“I’ve been trying to duck and dodge y’all all night,” Shona Thorburn said when approached.
Darling, you can’t avoid moi by hiding in a bar. Especially a martini bar. Two blocks from KeyArena.
Thorburn, sipping a beer alone, gave a soft laugh at her inability to avoid the media before emphasizing “nothing has been signed yet,” so she really couldn’t talk about her being in Seattle or her expected seven-day contract. She did allude to traveling with the team today to Houston, so even though the WNBA front offices are closed for the holiday, the deal could have been reached.
A native Canadian, Thorburn said she’s been at home in Denver working out, waiting for her agent to give the call about another possibility in the league since being cut by Minnesota in May. The Lynx were overloaded in the backcourt with the draft-day aquitition of Lindsay Harding. Thorburn also spent a little time in Utah and recently signed to play overseas in Spain.
“Things are good,” said Thorburn, who attended the Storm win against Los Angeles.
After the small talk, I left her to her beer because a martini, err, friends were calling my name. Even though not many on the Storm are familiar with Thorburn, she seems as if she’ll be a good fit. Once everything is signed.
