New point

The Storm opted not to re-sign second-year guard Shona Thorburn to a second seven-day contract, instead picking up Doneeka Hodges-Lewis, who is in her fourth season. Hodges-Lewis, whose twin plays for Houston, was cut by Los Angeles in training camp, appearing in one game.
The apparent seven-day contract doesn’t appear to cure any of Seattle’s issues, however. All-Star Sue Bird is expected to be out rehabbing her left knee and Hodges-Lewis is a natural shooting guard, giving the Storm three on the roster.
Practice is this afternoon, so more to come.
