Supporting Jackson

Indiana guard Tully Bevilaqua wore a black band around her biceps in honor of the passing of Storm All-Star Lauren Jackson’s paternal grandmother. Jackson, who’s Australian like Bevilaqua, was in her native home this week to tend to her grandmother before she passed on Friday.
Storm personnel were dressed in black to support Jackson at tonight’s televised game against Washington. It’s the second time Jackson has lost a grandparent during a season, the first happening in 2004 when she lost her maternal grandmother on the eve of the championship run.
Jackson was at shootaround and is expected to start tonight. She’s currently taking warmup shots with assistant coach Shelley Patterson. Jackson scored a WNBA record-tying 47 points in a one-point overtime loss to the Mystics in July.
