When gossip hits home

Storm forward Sheryl Swoopes has nothing good to say about Internet chat sites and gossip blogs. I can see why after receiving an e-mail with this link this morning. Someone somewhere is always dogging Swoopes for her supposed attitude or play and now they can’t get the facts of her personal relationship right.
The site dropped in a photo of me as Alisa Scott, Swoopes’ longtime partner. I was joking about it in the media lounge outside the practice doors when Scott walked through. We showed her the mix-up and she said she had already seen it. “It pisses me off,” she said. Yikes!
We’ve both tried to contact the site to remove the photo but haven’t been able to reach anyone. So, for the record, that’s not Alisa Scott. But this is.
Scott isn’t the only family member watching practice today. Candace Griffith, the 17-year-old daughter of new Storm center Yolanda, is also in town for the summer. She has attended the majority of her mother’s games, sitting right behind the Sacramento bench the past nine seasons. The Storm faces the Monarchs on Tuesday, tipping off ESPN2’s “WNBA Tuesday” lineup where a different game is featured every Tuesday night.
