Women's Hoops

The latest news and analysis on college and pro women's basketball.

We’re back!

The blog experienced some technical difficulties, so I couldn’t post the past few days. Did you miss me? Yeah, I know you did. Anyway, the lapse was horrible. Detroit coach Bill Laimbeer was ripe on Saturday and there was no outlet for his antics. It’s probably best.
Well, Sue Bird won’t be going to court. What? You hadn’t heard?
In the Sonics trial, Judge Marsha Pechman tossed out KJR host Mitch Levy as one of the city’s witnesses because of his late addition. That means the whole “harder Daddy harder” counter — when Levy and Bird placed a bet on her assist ratio to get him to buy tickets or he got to spank her — on Levy’s character won’t be brought up again. And thankfully not in court of all places.
Bird was unfazed, however, when it was brought to her attention that the bet was re-emerging. She still hasn’t been back on the show. “At first it was mutual and now I just haven’t,” she said. But she’s been on the station since.
The Storm PG and teammates are pro Sonics remaining in Seattle, but like their brethren players, don’t know what they can do to help. “It would be a travesty if they leave,” said Storm F Lauren Jackson.
