LJ walks out of hospital

She sounded groggy from the medication, but Storm forward Lauren Jackson was able to walk out of the hospital after right ankle surgery on Thursday in Sydney, Australia. She contacted coach Brian Agler to let him in on her progress, mentioning that she’s a quick healer. Jackson has a second doctor’s appointment on Sept. 8 and hopes to return to Seattle after that date, if cleared to travel. Agler did not know how quickly she’d be able to return to play, but the Storm has three games remaining at that point, two on the road against Sacramento and Los Angeles, who are currently behind Seattle in Western Conference standings.
Read more about the procedure here and I’ll have more in Friday’s paper.
