Storm playoff times set

Sacramento’s loss to San Antonio today means the Storm will play Los Angeles in the opening round of the playoffs. Game 1 is Friday in Los Angeles at 7:30 p.m. at Staples Center. The game will be aired on NBA-TV. Game 2 is Sunday at KeyArena at 2 p.m. on ESPN2 while Game 3, if needed, is on Tuesday at 6 p.m. on ESPN2 at KeyArena.
Sacramento has an odd start to the postseason, playing a delayed game with Houston on Monday due to Hurricane Ike, then traveling home to host the Silver Stars in Game 1 on Thursday at 6 p.m. on ESPN2. Game 2 is on Saturday at the AT&T Center at 8 p.m. (local time). Game 3, if needed, is slated for Monday in San Antonio, but the time is to be determined.
So, Sunday’s game in LA means nothing for the Storm. Coach Brian Agler was vague about who he’d start and with everything determined, the guess is he’ll play Sue Bird and Yolanda Griffith a little, then use the bench to close out the matchup. With a win and Detroit loss, the Storm can clinch the second-best record in the league behind San Antonio, which would give them home-court advantage in the WNBA Finals — (everybody together now) should the Storm advance.
Seattle is going to return home on Monday, however, practice in Seattle and most likely return to LA on Wednesday to prepare for Game 1. You can get your tickets here and be sure to tell them you heard about the times first in The Seattle Times.
