Washington loses to Weber State

Washington lost on the road to Weber State 77-66 tonight. Junior C Laura McLellan led the Huskies with 17 points while senior F Heidi McNeill had 12 boards. But while the Huskies cleaned up their turnovers (16) and outrebounded the Vikings by one (44-43), coach Tia Jackson tweaked her starting lineup and the results weren’t favorable.
Judging by the box score, Jackson started senior guard Michelle Augustavo and junior G Sara Mosiman over freshman SG Kristi Kingma and sophomore PG Sarah Morton. Washington, which has a trend of going hot and old on the offensive end, shot 35.3 percent with Kingma missing all 11 of her attempts.
I didn’t travel, so we’ll have more on this in tomorrow’s paper and when the Huskies (0-2) return.
