New Dawg to be unveiled today

Husky.jpgWashington is going to unveil and name its new mascot this afternoon, a purebred Alaskan Malamute. The school held an online contest to name the puppy and about 1,400 responses were sent ranging from Butch to Tyrone. Representatives didn’t know if coach Tia Jackson’s name made the list.
For an update after the release at 3 p.m., checkout Bob Condotta’s football blog. But the new Dawg won’t just be at football games. He’ll have a kennel club and make other appearances, possibly showing up at women’s basketball games in the future. The women only have two home games remaining — UCLA and USC next week.
UPDATE: The new name is Dubs.
