Storm finds new digs for front office

SeattleStorm.pngCheck out our story today about the Storm finding office space for its staff. The team is leasing 12,055 square feet in the Interbay Building, located between Queen Anne and Magnolia neighborhoods. It is expected to help revitalize the area, which looks like a worn-down industrial strip between two posh spots to live in Seattle.
The front office will relocate in March. Coaches and players will use the Furtado Center practice facility through the season, but the team will have to find practice space for the 2010 season. There is a stipulation in the new KeyArena lease that the team can use that facility for practice and non-game functions, but 48 hours notice is needed and there are limits.
Storm CEO Karen Bryant said the team is exploring all options. Local colleges are an option, but the team hasn’t begun discussions with any. There are also a few health clubs being built downtown that will have full-sized courts available for use, and the Storm could rent that space. Ideally, the Storm would like to have a place where it can also house the coaching staff and player lockers.
