Storm to host Dance Troupe auditions in April

SeattleStorm.pngYou know what else I miss about the Sonics? The Sonics Dancers. Some are still shaking it around town as glitter to the city’s nightlife, but I miss them on the big stage of a NBA court during halftime and timeouts.
Anyway, I guess it takes a minute for parents to plan, so the Storm has announced real early that it is holding auditions for their Dance Troupe. The tryouts are slated for April 14 and 16 at the Furtado Center, the team’s practice facility in the shadow of the Space Needle.
In the past, these kids could shake it too — just in a bubblegum-cute kind of way. With this summer being the well-marketed 10th anniversary for the Storm, the dancers’ role will be even more important in keeping KeyArena pumped. And who knows, maybe the organization will bring the Sonics dancers back? They do help teach the youngins, after all.
