Mailbag: Checking in on the Washington Huskies

Husky.jpgDespite the WNBA season finally picking up, a few of you want to know how the Washington Huskies are doing in preparation for turning around one of its worst seasons in program history. Well, Coach Tia Jackson has a Twitter account (@Coach_Jackson), where she last updated that the Huskies are in the midst of weight training and open gym.
The coaching staff is also on the recruiting trail. Although Jackson has one scholarship open for the 2009-2010 season, she still hasn’t signed any players. Washington did receive a verbal commitment for the 2010-2011 from G/F Ashley Moore of Saint Patrick St. Vincent High in Vallejo, Calif., according to ESPN.
As for returnees, G Christina Rozier continues to rehabilitate from offseason leg surgery and a few players, like Mackenzie Argens, were spotted at Husky spring football practice.
