Season over: No. 7 Gonzaga loses to No. 3 Xavier

Seventh-seeded Gonzaga (29-5) lost 74-56 to No. 3 seed Xavier (30-3) on Saturday in the Bulldogs’ first appearance in the Sweet 16. Junior wing Katelan Redmon, a Washington transfer, led the Zags with 14 points and five rebounds. Musketeers center Ta’Shia Phillips, a 6-foot-6 All-American, led her team with 22 points, 16 boards and one block.
No. 3 Xavier will face top-seeded Stanford in the Elite Eight on Monday in Sacramento, Calif.
