TV Alert: Storm star Sue Bird goes for another title
UPDATE: Halcon Avenida won the EuroLeague title 68-59. Storm free agent Belinda Snell finished with seven points and five rebounds for the winning team. All-Star Sue Bird had 16 points in a losing effort.
Storm All-Star Sue Bird (pictured right) is playing for her fifth consecutive EuroLeague title beginning Sunday morning. Her Russian team, Sparta&K M.R. Vidnoje defeated UMMC, which highlights 2008 WNBA MVP Candace Parker, at the Final Four on Friday.
Bird will play Sancho Lyttle’s (Atlanta) Halcon Avenida for the EuroLeague title. New Storm teammate Belinda Snell is also on the squad. If you’re awake, you can catch the championship here.
In other Storm news, while I was gone, Storm vets Tanisha Wright and Le’coe Willingham won the EuroCup title. Congrats to them.
