Mailbag: How to catch Storm-LA game and what to wear?

Let’s get the odd email and blog comment out of the way first — the WNBA will allow players to wear dress jeans on the bench and to travel. In case you didn’t know, this was a debate and scare regarding the league’s dress code. The NBA has a similar rule.
Storm All-Star Swin Cash told her followers on Twitter that it had been resolved and I really liked her tweet’s tone. Get your denim on baller.

WNBA players you can rest tonight. Dress Jeans are ok! Next time I hope we(executive committee) can hear as much … http://tmi.me/ayQvoless than a minute ago via UberSocial Favorite Retweet Reply

Now that the fashionable Storm is in Los Angeles to kick-off their first exhibition game of the season, how do you catch the action? You don’t. Not on the radio or television, at least.
The Seattle Times has a reporter (not me) covering the game and you can follow along on ESPN’s site. Storm coach Brian Agler isn’t playing star guards Sue Bird and Katie Smith to give the veterans some rest. He plans to start three-thime MVP Lauren Jackson, Cash, Le’coe Willingham, Camille Little with G Tanisha Wright running the point.
For the Sparks, the matchup marks the return of 2008 MVP Candace Parker from shoulder surgery (she did play three games against the Storm last season, however). And the reunion of high school teammates F Ebony Hoffman and PG Loree Moore. The Sparks’ G Noelle Quinn and Storm’s F Ify Ibekwe, a rookie, also played ball minutes from where the exhibition will take place at the Torodome on Cal State Dominguez Hills’s campus in Carson.
The opening half will mirror a regular-season game as both teams prepare for their respective openers in just over a week. The second half could be more evaluation and different rotations as both teams try to figure the final pieces of their roster.
I’ll be back with more.
