Save the date: Melissa Erickson Foundation on the move

Erickson.jpgFormer Washington standout Melissa Erickson, who was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) in 2006, is hosting her annual charity event to help pay for expenses and raise awareness about Lou Gehrig’s disease.
A dominating post, Erickson shined for the Huskies from 1997-2001.
Hope you have some extra dough, because in addition to the Storm selling more #StormCrazy shirts for All-Star Swin Cash’s charity, the Mellisa Erickson Foundation will attend Thursday’s game against Tulsa to hold a 50/50 raffle. Tickets to the game are discounted with proceeds going to Erickson’s foundation. The special offer code is: Melissa
On Aug. 27 from 1 to 5 p.m., the Melissa Erickson Foundation will hold its “Ring Around the Needle” pub crawl. All participants must complete check-in beforehand. Online registration is open until Aug. 25 and you can register the day of event for $50 per person. All proceeds go directly to Erickson.
Last year more than 550 supporters crawled through eight bars in Lower Queen Anne, raising approximately $30,000.
